Our trip today fell a little flat!

Today was yet another rainy day!  We were not going to let that stop us from venturing out.  Our first stop on the agenda was the Tillamook Forest Center.

It had a lot of information about the Tillamook burn and how they reforested it.  We climbed to the top of a fire tower and we were able to see the quarters that the fire watchmen stayed in.

The forest center was right by the Wilson River.  They had a bridge that allowed you to walk across it.  It was flowing so fast!

We left the forest center to see a few waterfalls in the vicinity.  We headed down a forest road to see a particular falls. This is a small waterfall that we saw on the way.

Turns out that would be the last waterfall we would see for the day.  Four miles down the service road we got a flat tire from the gravel road we were on.  There was no cell service, it was raining and cold,  and we were hungry.  We pulled over as much as we could on a single lane service road and changed to the spare tire.  Of course, the spare needed air but it had enough to get us 20 miles to the next town.  We tried to patch the original tire but the hole was quite big so we decided to go home on the spare.

We never made it to the waterfall that we set out for, but at least we were able to make it home safely.  I guess we know what Scott will be doing tomorrow!
