Pacific Coast Scenic Byway

Today we ventured south on the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway on the way to our destination.  It was a beautiful ride and the traffic was not nearly as bad as I thought it would have been. It took us a while to travel down this due to all the stops we made for beautiful scenery.

This was one of our first stops.

We stopped for dinner at the Pelican Brewing Company in Pacific City.  It was a cool place right on the ocean and had a beautiful view of a Haystack Rock.

Next stop was Depoe Bay and Cape Foulweather.  We spent a lot of time at this stop.  Just off the shore we were able to see the blow spouts and even the tail of a whale.  It is very exciting to see them.

Next, we stopped at Cape Perpetua to see Thor’s Well.  Somehow we timed it just right with the tide and we even got to see the sunset while we were here.  There was also a feature here called the spouting horn.  This whole stop was fascinating!
