Mount Saint Helens

Once again, it was a beautiful day!  We made a kinda last minute decision to make the trip to the northern side of Mt St Helens since the weather forecast for the higher elevations calls for snow all week.  They may start closing roads and we may not get another opportunity to get up there.  The visitors centers and rest stops were all closed for the winter.  We were able to get to an overlook and see the erupted side of the volcano.  We drove a little bit passed the overlook before turning around due to the condition of the road.  It would not have provided a much different view so we didn’t want to chance going downhill on a really icy road.

We could also see Mt Adams from this viewpoint. (It’s the mountain on the right of this pic)

This is a bridge that we crossed to get to the viewpoint.  They had a lookout just for the bridge.

Views of the volcano on the road in.

We flew the drone from the parking lot.  Here are a few pictures that we took with it.

With the drone, we could actually see Mt Rainier also. (The snow covered mountain all the way to the left)
