Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day, I decked out the outside of the house with lots of red, white, and blue and American flags.

Also on Monday, there was more action down at the waterfront. The US Coast Guard Cutter Diligence made it’s way through Southport as it was leaving its dock in Wilmington to head to its new home in Pensacola, Fl. Lots of people gathered to give her a nice send off. Southport even rolled out and shot their cannon “Thor” as it passed by as a farewell.

I asked Scott to video the Diligence going by because I knew they were going to fire the cannon. I’d like to share that video but we didn’t start it until after they fired! 🤦‍♀️ They were going to fire the canon again after the cutter passed in honor of Memorial Day, so I asked Scott to record it this time. Well… he did! But, the shot scared him so much that he dropped his phone! What am I going to do with him?! Hahaha

My brother and his family came down to spend the weekend with us. We had a great time. We spent lots of time at the beach, cooked out, played corn hole, and lots more. We even made it out to the newly re-opened Provision Company.

I put out my birthday projector since his birthday was this week!

The kids used our driveway as a blank canvas for their sidewalk chalk art.

Also, newly installed around town are these hand sanitizer stations!
