Fun Filled Weekend

I had a weekend full of fun activities. It all started Friday at work. We held a baby shower for one of our coworkers. We did our best to make the lounge baby shower ready and it was sweet to meet his family.

Friday evening, I went to a new place on Oak Island with some friends for trivia night. It was hosted by Captain Jack Sparrow. Our team did not win but we had a good time.

Saturday we rode our bikes down to the yacht basin where we were picked up by some friends on a boat. The weather was perfect! We rode the intracoastal waterway all the way down to Myrtle Beach, SC. It took us about 3 hours to get there. We had lunch there and checked out a distillery for some tasty beverages. It was a very enjoyable ride. It is so cool to see the houses and bridges from the water. We passed under some pretty high bridges, and we passed under some that actually spin to make way for sailboats and such. There were all kinds of different boats out, small ones, big ones, really nice ones, commercial ones, and even jet skis. Only in a few places did it get kinda choppy and congested. Our friends and their dog were great company and very generous to allow us to tag along with them for the day. I can’t wait to have another boat adventure with them. Scott will probably not join me the next time. Boating isn’t his favorite but he was a good sport this ride.

Sunday Scott and I met our friends Jay and Chelsea at Southport Tap and Cellar for music BINGO. The categories were the 90’s and Disco. I have never won any of the times we have been, but today I won 3 times, Scott won once (I had to yell bingo), and Jay won once. We enjoyed the music and the company.
