Welcome to Vegas!

We spent a couple of days in Las Vegas for TravCon.  It’s a conference for traveling healthcare professionals.  We were able to attend talks on housing options, negotiating contracts, tax rules, etc.  We were also able to meet lots of different companies and see what they had to offer.  We started the conference on Sunday with what they called Newbie Bootcamp.  It was kind of an overview on how traveling works.  They had some really good snacks for us during the day and in the evening they had a dinner and open bar for just the newbies.  The dinner was in a suite on the top floor with great views.

These are some pics from our walk around town.

Monday we went down for the provided breakfast and walked around to all the vendors before attending some classes.  It was really hard not to load up on a ton of free stuff that each vendor offered.  The car is so full already.  I did take a couple of things (prob more than Scott knows) but I passed on most of it.  They provided lunch and an afternoon snack that we took part in.  The company that I took my first assignment with was attending the conference so they invited Scott and I out for dinner on them!  After pizza and beer at Giordano’s, we went to check out the High Roller.  It’s a Ferris wheel type ride only it takes 30 minutes for each rotation and it includes an open bar.  It was a lot of fun!

Tuesday, it was back to classes and walking around to the vendors.  They once again provided breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.  After our last class of the day we went to the room for a nap before the big after party later in the evening. It was held on a rooftop bar across the street from our hotel.  There were amazing views and pools!  We had a lot of fun.  After 11pm the place turns into a beach club and you can rent cabanas and actually go in the pools.

This is Debbi, she’s a travel nurse that I had the pleasure of working with in Seaside.  She is actually the one that told Scott and me about the conference.   It was good to see her again.

Wednesday, they provided us with brunch.  We went up and got a nice meal before we hit the road again.  We had tons of fun and learned a lot!  Until next time Vegas…
