NC Visit

We had a longer than expected gap between assignments so we went to N.C. to visit.  It was really nice to be able to visit with everyone.  We also enjoyed eating at the Mexican food places that we love.  My mom made some of my favorite meals for us while we were visiting.  Nothing beats a good home cooked meal.

We left our car in Denver and flew to Raleigh.  This was the first time that Scott and I had flown together.

While we were in N.C. we were able to enjoy some really warm weather and get some pool time in.

One of the days, I went to my nephew’s school to have lunch with him. He’s still young enough to enjoy family coming to school to eat with him.

Diamond celebrated her 12th birthday!  She still gets super excited to see Scott, even after being away for 6 months.  Scott and I took her for a birthday car ride.  She LOVES a car ride but can’t get in and out on her own anymore.  No worries, Scott is strong enough to pick her up into the car.

I went to a wedding shower for the son of my friend Bobbie.  It was nice to hang out with my friends.  Congrats to Dalton and Laura.

Hoptoberfest!  We went to the 4th Annual Hoptoberfest in Rockingham.  We were able to get a good group of friends to go and we had a blast.  We were able to taste some really good and not so good beers, wines, and wings.  After that, we went to our friends Stacy and Amanda’s house to hang out for the evening.  Scott and I spent the night with them and we were treated to a fabulous gourmet breakfast of waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, and grits.  Thanks a million guys!

I was also lucky enough to get to play 2 softball games with my mom and my old team.  It reminded me how much I miss playing ball with all of those ladies.  I’m so happy they let me play while I was home.

Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of pictures with my family while we were there.  I did however get this picture of my mom and I while we were goofing around one night.  We even snuck and put it as the screensaver on Scott’s phone.   Hahahahaha  my mom and I always have so much fun together.

The last morning we were there, the sunrise was really awesome.

I was sad to leave but really glad that we were able to visit.  Also, glad we left before the next hurricane comes through.   Thanks to my uncle Kerry and Dad for getting us back to the airport.  We made it back to Denver and the car was fine.  To everyone in N.C., we will miss you.  Until next time…..
