Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum

On this past Sunday we decided to explore a little bit before Carolynn started at Providence.  So I found three places that would appeal to both of us.  One was a lighthouse, which we did not stay at, as the parking was $4 an hour.  Since we haven’t had income in 5 weeks, I decided that we would come back to that one later.

Next was a trip to the Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum.  This was on my list, as they had a whole bunch of working WW2 aircraft. We get in free because of our membership at another museum, so I intend to go often.  It doesn’t hurt that it is near where Boeing is building the 767/777/787 aircraft.  I was as giddy as a schoolgirl.  I will take more pictures next time, but here are a few:

This museum was one of Paul Allen’s (co-founder of Microsoft) babies, and unfortunately he died unexpectedly the day after we visited.  Hopefully he had put in place a way for the collection to continue to grow.  I would love to see it be around for years to come.
