Mount Baker

Today, even though the weather forecast was questionable, we decided to head up to Mount Baker.  The road up the mountain was beautiful.  There were lots of waterfalls coming down the side of the mountain right at the road.  We didn’t stop and take pictures of all of them.  As we got closer to our destination the road became more curvy and full of switchbacks.

We made it to Picture Lake and it was partially frozen. It was also so cloudy that we couldn’t even see Mount Baker.  There was also several inches of snow on the ground.  It was sleeting/raining while we were there.

We saw a sign for Nooksack Falls and decided to take the road and check out the falls.

The rocks at this fall were so cool looking.

After we were done checking out the sights on this route we decided to stop in the town of Acme for lunch.  We stopped at the Acme diner and had pulled pork sandwiches.  The waitress said there must have been something in the air because she had sold like 15 pulled pork sandwiches that day.  We also tried their homemade ice cream.  It was amazing!

Next, we headed to North Cascades National Park to see what we could see with the little bit of daylight left.
