Olympic National Park, part 2

Today we got up early and headed back towards the park.  Our first stop was a hike to Marymere Falls.

Marymere Falls

It was a nice quiet hike that was about 2 miles round trip. It was pretty cold and very wet, but luckily not raining.

Crescent Lake

This trail was right at Crescent Lake which was on our list of stops today.  It was a pretty lake and it was really really clear.

On to our next stop, Hurricane Ridge.   We had to wait for the daily report of when the road was going to be open and what the conditions will be like.  We left it as our last stop to hopefully allow the sun some time to come out and melt the ice and snow on the road.

Hurricane Ridge

The roads were open but all vehicles were required to carry chains.  As the elevation increased, so did the fog and the snow.  There were some parts where it was very difficult to see.  But for the most part the roads were clear.  It was cold and even started to snow a little while we were up there.  We didn’t get more than just a few sneak peaks at the blue sky.  People brought skis, snow shoes, and sleds up with them to play.  I tried looking in the car to see if we had anything I could sled on.  Hahaha

We headed back down and headed home.  We really enjoyed our visit to Olympic National Park.  The weather was ok.  It could have been better but it also could have been much worse.

This was a church we passed on the way home tha I thought was cute.

This was on our ferry ride back.
