Seattle For The Day

Today we ventured into the city of Seattle for the day.  We wanted to take advantage of a relatively clear day to go up in the Space Needle.  Luckily traffic wasn’t too bad and we didn’t have a problem at all finding parking.  We also visited Pike Place Market.  It reminded me a lot of the open air Market in Charleston, SC with the exception of all of the seafood!  We didn’t see them throw any fish but we did see the biggest shrimp we have ever seen.  We also walked down to the gum wall.  So gross!  It’s covered in all kinds of gum. Some of the gum as even been positioned to spell stuff.  On the way out of the city we stopped at Kerry Park to enjoy the view.

Space Needle

The space needle used to have a rotating restaurant in it, but they renovated it and now there is just a snack bar.  It still rotates.  They replaced the floor with glass so you can see below as you spin around.  They also had a non spinning upper deck that was open air for you to enjoy the views.

Kerry Park

This park was given to the city by a couple so that everyone could enjoy the view of the city.

There was plenty more to do and see around the city but we wanted to get out of there before the evening rush hour!
