We have just finished our first week here in Southport, NC. We have enjoyed taking daily bike rides, including riding to and from work everyday. Funny thing, the surgical tech that is orienting me, went to high school with me. She graduated 2 years before me, but we played on the same softball team. Small world.

They have these awesome swings along the boardwalk overlooking the water. Great place to watch the boats, birds, and people.

After work one day, we went to Oak Island and went for a long (3 mile) walk on the beach. It was a beautiful day, but our feet were not ready for that because we both left the beach with blisters.

One night we went for dinner at a local place that was suggested by a couple of coworkers. It was a really neat place right on the water. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the views. We ended up staying to see the sunset.

Tonight, we went for a bike ride around to see what a Friday night in town was like. There were definitely a lot more people out than had been all week. We were treated to a beautiful sunset.

They did open the pool for our condo this week so it’s been nice to come home from work and hang by the pool. We are also super close to the beach and because of the time my day ends, we are able to do a lot in the afternoons.
