This year I was able to participate in two witch bike rides! One in Southport and one in Oak Island.

Southport Witch Bike Ride

I decorated the tandem bicycle for this ride and had a skeleton as my passenger. My friends Liz and Bobbie Jo came to ride along also. We met down at the waterfront, took a few photos, and then started the ride. We rode around the yacht basin, stopped for some photos at a cemetery, and headed to our first drink stop, Silver Coast Winery. After a drink there, we rode around town a little before making our way to American Fish. We enjoyed the views, weather, drinks, and company. After this we made our way to Southport Tap and Cellar. They had a live band and a food truck. We had so much fun on this ride.

Oak Island Bike Ride

The weekend after the Southport bike ride, I went to Oak Island to participate in their Witch Bike Ride. This time I did bot take the tandem. We rode our bikes from our meeting spot to Duffers Bar, then to the Lazy Turtle, and then to Grape and Ale. I had to bail after the grape and Ale but the rest of the group headed to one last stop after that.

Both rides were a bunch of fun. I can’t wait to do it again next year.
